NELSON, James “Jim” Lockhart – age 55, of Yarmouth NS., passed away unexpectedly on April 22, 2016 in Yarmouth. Born in Yarmouth, N.S. on December 28, 1960 he was a son to Alice E (Foulis) Nelson and the late Robert L. Nelson. Jim was a loving husband and father and best known as a local businessman who was a 3rd generation owner and operator of W.L. Nelsons Furniture. In his spare time he loved to play cards especially bid whist. He also loved the outdoors and was known to enjoy fly fishing for trout and salmon and camping at Keji as well as Mariners hockey and travelling. He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years Ann (Nelson) Nelson, Yarmouth; son, Robert A.L. Nelson, Yarmouth; mother, Alice Nelson; sister, Kathy (Randy) Saulnier, Dayton; aunt, Anne Corning, Yarmouth; nieces and nephews, Daniel, Katie, and Hannah Saulnier; mother-in-law, Mary (Deveau) Oxner, Yarmouth; brothers-in-law, Arthur C Jr. (Kirsten) Nelson and Maurice (Linda) Munroe ; sisters-in-law, Cheryl (Ed Schijns) Munroe, Halifax, Helen Rhodes, ON, Rose (John) MacKenzie, Alta, Maria (Jeff) Pitman, South Ohio, Patricia Rhymer, Yarmouth and their respective families; several cousins and many friends. Besides his father he was predeceased by his grandparents, James and Deborah (Smith) Foulis and Walter and Louise (Pippy) Nelson; and father-in-law, Arthur C. Nelson Sr. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. There was no visitation by family request. A celebration of Jim’s life was held Thursday April 28, 2016 at 2 P.M from Yarmouth Wesleyan Church, Rev. A.D. “Bill” Newell officiated. Interment followed in Chebogue Cemetery. Donations in memory may be made to the Chebogue Cemetery Fund or the Yarmouth Regional Hospital Foundation.
