STEELE, MARY JANE
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Mary Jane Steele announces her passing, which occurred on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at the Saint John Regional Hospital with her family by her side. Born in Saint John on March 26, 1952, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Edith Steele.
Mary Jane’s passion was caring for people, and spent time working as a nurse’s aid in Halifax and Montreal.
Mary Jane will be missed by her daughter Tamara Steele (David Cooper); her siblings, Michael Steele (Joan), Barbara Sicard (Wendell) and Joseph Steele; two nephews, Gregory Steele (Hilary Tomney) and Michael Steele; as well as all those whose lives she touched over the years.
In addition to her parents, Mary Jane was predeceased by a sister, Joanne Steele.
The family would like to thank the staff of Meadowbank Manor, and more recently the Transition Ward, 4A North at the Saint John Regional Hospital for their compassionate care of Mary Jane through the years.
Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424) with visiting on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 from 5 to 8pm. A celebration of Mary Jane’s life will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 from St. Paul’s Anglican Church, 4 Church Avenue, Rothesay, NB at 11:00 am.
For those who wish, remembrances made to Canadian Diabetes Association or MindCare New Brunswick would be appreciated by the family.
