BAIN, Mineva Theresa- age 82, of The Meadows Home for Special Care, Yarmouth, passed away on May 13, 2016 at The Meadows. Born in Pembroke, Yarmouth County, NS on August 7, 1933 she was the daughter of the late Simon and Gladys Doucette. Mineva was a member of the TOPS Group for 30 years, and a member of the Sanford Baptist Church. She loved camping and fishing with her husband “Doug”, and she also loved to walk. She is survived by daughters, Karen Bain, Yarmouth; Rebecca (Becky) Therien, Westville, NS; son Greg (Theresa) Bain, Melbourne, Yarmouth County; sisters Ida (Mrs Burton Fitzgerald), Yarmouth; Ina Ruttan, Ontario; Phyllis (Curt) Sollows, Yarmouth; Pauline (Mrs Arnold Nickerson), Overton; many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Besides her parents she was predeceased by husband Douglas, son Scott Bain and sister Anna Bain. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. Visitation was held Sunday May 15, 2016 from 7-9 p.m. in Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral service was held at Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel, Monday May 16, 2016 at 2 p.m., Rev. A.D. “Bill” Newell officiated. Interment followed in Pembroke Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations in memory may be made to Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke.
