HALEY, Florence Anne – age 80, Morris Island, Yarmouth Co., passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 19, 2016 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born June 16, 1935 in Morris Island, she was a daughter of the late J. Edward and Madeline (Muise) Doucette. For more than 40 years she was known by everyone as the Avon Lady, and because of that she had made friends all over the countryside. She always enjoyed a good yarn, and will long be remembered for her green thumb, love of African Violets and for baking the best home-made biscuits anywhere. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her children, Brian (Debbie) Haley, Kentville; Michael (Anita) Haley, Barrhead, AB; Kathy Haley (Rob Jewers), Argyle Head; grandchildren, Rhonda, Amanda, Ryan, Jennifer, Erin and Trevor, as well as seven great grandchildren. Also surviving are her siblings, Louise Moulaison, Yarmouth; Clifford Doucette, Morris Island; Gladys (Robert) Thibodeau, Yarmouth; James (Joyce) Doucette, Pubnico; Carol Ann Arsenault, Morris Island; Jean Muise, Morris Island; Jane (George) Pierce, Hebron. Visitation took place from 7-9 p.m., Friday with prayers at 8 p.m., both at H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, 29 Albert Street, Yarmouth. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 3 p.m., Saturday, May 21 at Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church, Surette’s Island, Father Maurice LeBlanc officiated. Interment followed in the parish cemetery.
