It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Dorothy Morgan on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Born in Glace Bay, Dorothy was the daughter of Blanche (Cochrane) and the late Patrick Burrows.
Dorothy was originally employed at MacLeod’s bookstore in Glace Bay, followed by the K-Mart in Sydney, and finally with Atomic Energy of Canada at the Heavy Water Plant site. She enjoyed shopping with her mother, and in her earlier years digging clams, fishing smelt, and picking blueberries. She had a big heart and enjoyed a big lobster dinner on her birthday, which she was always quick to share.
Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Clarie Morgan and nephew Ian Burrows.
She will be greatly missed by her brothers, George Burrows (Loraine) and Chris Burrows (Debbie), as well as niece Nancy and children Billy and Nick, nephew Robert (Courtney) and children Norah and Madelyn, and by many friends.
Visitation will take place Thursday, May 26, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Curry’s Funeral Home, 775 Main St., Glace Bay. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, May 27, at 11 a.m. at Holy Cross Church in Glace Bay. Interment will be in St Anthony’s Cemetery.
