Robert Thibodeau

THIBODEAU, ROBERT
(1958‑2016)
RICHIBUCTO, NB – “My father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may also be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.” John 14:2‑4NIV

It is with great sadness that we announce that Robert’s place was ready and he was called home on May 30th, 2016, after a lengthy bout with cancer. Robert and his wife Raymonde lived in Richibucto. He was the eldest son of Eric and Therese (Johnson) Thibodeau.

Besides his father, Robert will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 34 years (married September 19, 1981) Raymonde; a son Daniel of Dieppe; two sisters Margerite Thompson (James) of Saint Charles and Nicole Gaudet (Gabriel) of Saint‑Louis‑de‑Kent; two special nephews, Michael and Brayden.

He was predeceased by his mother, Therese (2006) and his brother Gerry.

Robert was an employee of the Province of New Brunswick having commenced work at the Saint‑Louis‑de‑Kent Ranger Office in 1980 as Deputy Game Warden for the Department of Natural Resources. Most of his career was spent in the southeastern part of the province, with the exception of a five year period in the mid‑eighties where he worked out of the Plaster Rock Office. He always said that he had the greatest job in the world and worked with the most dedicated group of people within the various aspects of the work over the years, in the Department of Natural Resources.

Visitation will be held at Thompson’s Funeral Home, Richibucto on Thursday from 7 to 9 pm, Friday noon until departure for the funeral. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, June 3rd, 2016 at 2:00 pm at the Victory Baptist Church in Rexton. Interment will be in the St. Charles Borromée Roman Catholic Cemetery in Saint Charles.

Donations in Robert’s memory may be made to the Canadian Red Cross or to New Brunswick Extra Mural program. Arrangements are in care of Thompson’s Funeral Home, Richibucto (523‑4252).
