Owen  Rafuse

PARRSBORO – Owen L. Rafuse, age 85, of Parrsboro passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at the South Cumberland Community Care Centre, Parrsboro.
Born in Advocate Harbour, he was a son of the late Rufus and Marjorie (Morris) Rafuse.
Owen served 23 years with Canadian Army having served in Korea and Germany, retiring from CFB Gagetown in 1972 to Parrsboro.
He was very active during his retirement, and enjoyed camping and spending time with family.
He is survived by his wife, the former Beverley “Bev” Davis; daughters, Carol Carr (Greg), Sussex, N.B.; Pamela Read (Terry MacDonald), Wyevale, Ont.; a son, Michael (Donna), Prospect; a sister, Delma Morris (Wesley Spicer), Halfway River; brothers, Norman (Jill), Parrsboro; Edwin (Frances), Advocate Harbour; grandchildren, Corey and Laura Ann Carr; Bradley, Bryan and Evan Rafuse; Bethany and Brendan Read; great grandchildren, Katie and Alex Carr, Kenton Watters; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a son, Peter in 2009; sisters, Helena and Laura in infancy; brothers, Lawrence and Eric.
A graveside memorial service was held on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at the Parrsboro United Cemetery. Reception followed at Legion Branch #45, Parrsboro.
