With special memories and saddened hearts, we the family, announce the passing of our loving mother, nanny on Friday, June 10, 2016 at her home Windsor Elm Village.
She was the daughter of the late James and Sara Whalen.
Neena, age 85, was a very special loving person. A devoted Catholic, dedicated wife, mother, nanny, and friend.
Survived by her daughter Anne (Wally) Hennessey; sons Mendel (Cathy) and Duncan (Darlene); granddaughters Christine (Max) Noseworthy, Lisa (Jody) Noble; grandsons Jason and Tim Fowler; great-granddaughters Brittney, Noel and Ceilidh Noseworthy and Olivia and Emily Noble; brothers Llewellyn (Patsy), Rannie (Marilyn) and sister Lucy Jackson; like a second daughter Linda Shepard;
numerous nephews and nieces and special neice Alana MacIntyre for your daily phone calls.
A special thank you to the staff at the Windsor Elm Village.
Neena was predeceased by her husband Duncan, sisters Velma Ursula, Hughena, Marylou, brothers Junior, Joe and Hank.
Vistation for Neena will be held on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Curry’s Funeral Home, 775 Main St., Glace Bay. Funeral mass will be held at the Holy Cross Church 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 15 with interment at St. John's Cemetery, Wallace Road.
