SMITH, EDWARD
Edward Smith of Moncton passed away peacefully at the Villa du Repos nursing home on June 13, 2016 at the age of 73. Born in Springhill, NS, March 11, 1943, he was the son of the late Clara (Ed) Croft.

Edward was a police officer in the city of Moncton for 33 years, he was dedicated to his job and retired at the rank of staff sergeant. He was also a member of the Moncton Lions Club. He had a passion for music, baseball and his family.

Edward is survived by his loving wife of 49 years Stella (Gauvin) Smith, daughters; Stephanie (Kevin Hawryluk) Smith and Natalie Smith, brother, Wesley (Heidi) Smith and his sister, Linda (Willy) Nimigon. He is also survived by his many special nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service will take place at Fair Haven Funeral Home on Monday, June 20, 2016 at 6:00pm followed by a reception until 9:00pm. Interment will take place at Fair Haven Cemetery.

Donations in Edward’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation or a charity of the donor’s choice.
