Marjorie "Tippy" Leona (Fagan) Latham

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Marjorie "Tippy" Leona (Fagan) Latham, age 76, of Port Elgin, NB. Marjorie passed away at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, June 15, 2016.
Born in Port Elgin, NB, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Stella (Donelle) Fagan.
As a young girl, Marjorie worked at the Strathcona Hotel in Port Elgin, NB. In her mid-teens she rode the back of the daredevil motorcycle for the Bill Lynch traveling circus. She then worked in Halifax, Montreal and Toronto as a waitress, including at the Colonial Tavern on Yonge Street. She also worked at several other restaurants, Watts, Monticello, and the Kennedy Road Steakhouse to name a few. In her late 20's she studied and became a professional poodle groomer, then in 1986, she started at Dortec Industries, Aurora, ON (Magna International) until her retirement in 1996.
She will be dearly missed by her son Raymond Latham, Cap Pelé, NB; grandson Mark Latham, Markham, ON and granddaughter Shannon (Matthew) Campbell, Uxbridge, ON; great granddaughter Imagin Campbell; her faithful poodle "Spud" (pictured with her); brothers Valerie (Adrienne), Port Elgin, Gordon (Elsia), Vancouver, BC, Rene, Terrace, BC, Tommy, Port Elgin, NB, Raymond (Emmie), River Hebert, NS; sisters Marion Smith, Airdrie, AB, Blanche Hawes, Halifax, NS; as well as several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
She was predeceased by 4 sisters, Matilda, Armeline "Lynn", Mabel "Sandra" and Lenita, as well as brothers George, Frank and Roger.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Jones Funeral Home. Visitation took place at the Jones Funeral Centre, 3 West Main St., Port Elgin, NB (506-538-2241) on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm, and will also be held from 10 am until leaving for Funeral Mass at St. Clement's Roman Catholic Church, Port Elgin, N.B. on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at 11 am, Father Allison Carroll officiating. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery immediately following.
The family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to her family doctor Dr. Catherine Johnston, Oncologists Dr. Sheldon Rubin, Dr. Mukherjee and Dr. Samad, for their dedicated care; as well as all the RN's and LPN's in Oncology. Additionally, Oncologist Dr. White of Halifax, NS as well as the RN's and LPN's in Halifax, NS. Thanks also to Cardiologist Dr. Dow and his team of experts for their implantation of her pacemaker in 2016 and to all the Doctors and Psychologists that diagnosed and treated Marjorie in Sackville during her mental health illness. Much gratitude to the paramedics for their constant care and attention on Marjorie's many trips to various hospitals.
