CARMELA LILLIAN BOLAND
August 2, 1926 ~ June 17, 2016


It is with great sadness that the family of the late CARMEL BOLAND of Lamaline announces her passing at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre in Burin on Friday, June 17th, at the age of 89. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are sons, Alexander (Edna) of Fortune, Eric (Sharon) of Point May, Richard of Lamaline, Gerard (Theresa) of Lamaline, Charles (Carolyn) of Lamaline and Dion (Katrina) of Lamaline; daughters, Theresa (Randell Coady) of Fermuse, Sylvia Letournel of Fortune, Sarah (Anthony Pittman) of Fortune, Sheila (Patrick Drake) of Marystown, Marion (Terry Ackinson) of Stellarton, NS, Dianne (Lester Martin) of Lamaline and Violet (Paul Daley) of Oshawa, ON; sisters, Madeline Clarke and Betty Loder of Little St. Lawrence; 34 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; plus a large circle of relatives and friends. She was predeceased by husband, Alexander Boland; partner, Freeman Purchase; daughter, Olivia Brake; parents, Richard & Theresa Clarke; brother, Richard; sisters, Sylvia, Olivia, Helen, Vivian & Mary Bridget; grandchildren, John, Roxanne, Nicole, Shawn & Trevor.

The Mass of Christian Burial took place at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Allan’s Island, on Monday, June 20th, at 10:00 a.m. Interment followed at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Cemetery. In Carmel’s memory donations may be made to The Boland Family or flowers gratefully accepted.
