The death of Edith M. Cameron of Fredericton, NB, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, occurred at Thomas Hall - Shannex in Fredericton, NB, on Friday, July 2nd, 2016. Born in Nashwaak Bridge, NB, to the late Angus and Annie Mabel (Edney) Forbes. Edith was 100 years of age.

She is survived by daughter, Marilyn E. Kearns of Calgary, AB; son-in-law, Eric Gionet of Fredericton, NB; five grandchildren, Matthew Gionet of Toronto, ON, Marc Gionet of Fredericton, NB, Suzanne Gionet of Saint John, NB, Becky Vernon of Calgary, AB and Brendan Kearns of Calgary, AB; four great-grandchildren; brother, Ralph Forbes of Moncton, NB; sister-in-law, Barabra Forbes of Fredericton, NB; and many nieces and nephews.
Edith was predeceased by her husband, James M. Cameron in 2004; daughter, Janice S. Cameron-Gionet in 2009; infant son, Paul F. Cameron in 1946; two sisters, Sarah (Sadie) and Elizabeth, and six brothers, Shirley, Angus (Sandy), Murray, Harold, Clarence and Stanley.

Edith greatly enjoyed her work at the University of New Brunswick library until retirement in 1981. Edith was an adherer of St. Paul's United Church. She enjoyed reading, baking, travelling, cross country skiing and especially spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Edith continued to knit for her family until no longer able at the age of 97. She was greatly admired and showed incredible strength, love and perseverance. She will be missed.

A funeral service will be held at McAdams Funeral Home in the J. A. McAdam Memorial chapel on Tuesday, July 5th, 2016, at 2:00 pm with The Rev. Richard Bowley officiating. A reception will follow in the adjoining room. Interment will take place in the Nashwaak Bridge Community Cemetery at 4pm.
