ATKINS, FRANCES CLARE
Frances C. Atkins, 98, of Spencer Memorial Home, and formerly of Connaught Ave., Moncton, passed away peacefully at her residence on Monday, July 11, 2016. Born in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Helen (Lawlor) Howard.

Frances was a graduate of St. Mary’s Hospital in Montreal in 1938 and was a retired Registered Nurse with the Moncton Hospital with 30 plus years’ service. Frances was a devout Catholic who attended St. Augustine’s Roman Catholic Church where she was a member of the St. Augustine’s CWL. In her retirement years, Frances enjoyed volunteering in her community, her church and with the Ray of Hope Needy Kitchen. She had a great sense of humour and her true pride was found in her family.

Frances will be sadly missed by her daughter, Rosemary Boyle (Gary) of Quispamsis and sons, Paul, Brian (Susan) and Andrew (Joan), all of Moncton; grandchildren, Conor, Jesse, Jaclyn, Kristen, Kelsey, Siobhan and Stephanie; several great grandchildren; daughter–in–law, Alice Atkins of Fredericton; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Ledwell “Laddie” Atkins (1986); son, Daniel Atkins (2013); sisters, Aileen Rowan and Noreen Howard.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Staff of Spencer Memorial Home for the care and compassion shown to our mother, Frances, during her time there.

Visitation at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858–1995) on Thursday from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Funeral Mass at St. Augustine’s Roman Catholic Church Dominion St. and Mountain Road on Friday, July 15, 2016 at 12:00 noon, with Rev. Laurence Quin–Morris officiating. Interment will be held at the Old Shediac Road Cemetery.
