Dear friends of Barbara and Yvon LeBlanc: Although it’s already over a year since the regrettable passing of Barbara, we reprint her obituary at this time for the benefit of many whom we meet who missed seeing it in the Halifax Herald at the time of her death.
Barbara passed away in Sacred Heart Community Health Centre, Cheticamp on May 4, 2015, at the age of 73.
Born in Waltham Mass., she was the daughter of the late Phillip and Florence (Chiasson) Johnson. Barbara leaves a significant legacy of community development with a particular advocacy for heath care services.
Surviving are her husband, Yvon J. LeBlanc; daughters, Barbara LeBlanc, Hawaii; Diane LeBlanc, Ontario; Kristen LeBlanc, Massachusetts: brothers, Phillip Johnson, Hawaii; Robert Johnson, North Carolina; Richard Johnson, Maryland.
Predeceased by husband, Edmund Paul LeBlanc; son, Edmund Paul LeBlanc.
There was no visitation. Funeral mass was held Monday, May 11, 2015 in St. Michael’s Church, East Margaree, Fr. Barrett Clare-Johnson officiated. Burial in the parish cemetery.
