It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear loved one on July 23, 2016 at Agnes Pratt Home, St. John’s, Olive Mabel Blackwood of Brookfield, age 94 years. Predeceased by husband George, parents Arthur and Emma Hounsell, sister Maisie Vincent and brother Lloyd Hounsell. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are daughter Jean (Frank Whiteway), grandson Glenn (Lyanne), granddaughter JoAnne, four precious great grandchildren Rebecca, Sarah, Andrew and Ryan; sister Phyllis (Alec) Janes, sisters-in-law Evelyn Winters, Marjorie Kells, Carrie Hounsell and Pearl (Albert Kean); brothers-in-law Cyril Blackwood and Bill Howell also many nephews, nieces and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service was held on July 26, 2016 at the United Church, Brookfield with Reverends Lorne Bungay and Roberta Vincent-Bungay officiating, assisted by Rev. George Kean. Interment followed at the United Church Cemetery, Brookfield. As an expression of sympathy donations in her memory may be made to Ebenezer United Church, Brookfield.
