Osborne served during the Second World War with the West Nova Scotia Regiment and served in Britain, Italy, North Africa and Northwest Europe. He also took part in the Liberation of Holland. During this time he met his future wife, Catherine in Scotland, who later immigrated to Canada to raise their family. Osborne was a man of integrity, who had a deep faith, a twinkle in his eye and a sly, slow, grin, combined with a good sense of humour. He supported his family as a carpenter and loved to build things and work with his hands. Osborne was a foreman and supervisor with local contracting companies in the valley and was involved in the construction of many local landmarks. He enjoyed many trips back to Scotland and Toronto to visit family. He also enjoyed reading, watching old westerns and doing jigsaw puzzles and lexicons. He took great pride in his vehicles and loved taking drives. He also loved music and attended many variety shows. He really enjoyed any time spent with family, especially the little ones. We will sadly miss our dad and the quiet, loving and gentle man that he was. The family would like to thank his family physician of many years, Dr. Robert Mullan and all his caregivers, especially those from Careforce who provided comfort and support over the past few months. A special word of thanks, love and appreciation to caregiver Jodi Bishop, her husband and two sons whom Osborne loved and considered extended family.
