George Robert “Bob” Miller, 1930 - 2016. 85, of Windsor, Hants County, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 19, 2016 at the Hants Community Hospital with his loving family by his side. Born in Windsor, he was the son of the late Herbert and Maude Miller. He was a heavy equipment operator having worked at Fundy Gypsum and also in Halifax. He enjoyed his times at his cottage on Panuke Lake with family and friends. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. Bob liked to travel and has been in every province in Canada, some several times, also several states including Alaska. He also enjoyed going south in the winter. Bob liked to read and work in the flower gardens, watching sports and he was a very good carpenter. Bob is survived by his wife, the former Ellen Dill; sons, Terry (Lori), Jeff (Julie); grandchildren, Jennah, Zachary (Bree), Zoe and Madison; great grandson, Chase; sister, Maxine Turner; brother, Don (Rae) Miller; extended family, Cindy (Murray) Cavanaugh, Chris (Sandra) Northup, Tom Northup, Pastor Andy (Cathy) Northup and their family Adam (Janna), Dylan and Nellie; sister-in-law, Geraldine Smith and her family; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brother, Charlie and sister-in-law Mary Miller; and also by his brother-in-law, Harry Turner. Visitation was 7-9 pm Wednesday, August 24, 2016 in the Lindsay Windsor Funeral Home (902-798-2232), 194 King Street, Windsor. Memorial service was held 2 p.m. Thursday, August 25, 2016 in Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home Chapel. A private family interment was held in the Maplewood Cemetery, King Street, Windsor.
