LOWE, Cecilia Marie Alberta “Honey”. It is with sadness that we the family of Cecilia, Age 76, of Brookfield and Three Mile Plains, announce her sudden passing at home, on Wednesday, August 24, 2016. Born on January 19, 1940 in Windsor, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Gladys (Parker) Swinamer. Prior to moving to Brookfield in 2005, Cecilia was a long-time resident of Three Mile Plains. During her life she was energetic, hardworking and generous to others. She was a devoted and caring mother and grandmother. Cecilia retired from the Annapolis Valley Regional School Board after 35 years of service as a well liked and respected school bus driver. Prior to her illness she enjoyed camping and travelling. She travelled throughout Canada, the United States and parts of Europe, including Germany. Cecilia enjoyed baking for her family and friends and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by son, Jeffery; daughter, Kathy (Roy) Melvin; grandchildren, Joshua, Douglas (Apple Joy) and Emily Melvin; brothers, Floyd (Maxine); Victor “Bun” (Margaret); Gerald “Bob” Swinamer; numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by husband, Lawrence; sisters, Ruby Moore, Norma Goodwin, Isabel Haines, Caroline Swinamer and Geraldine Caldwell; brothers, Leslie “King” and Laurie Swinamer. Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). No visitation by family request. A funeral service celebrating Cecilia’s life was held 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 30 in DeMont Family Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Bill Gibson officiated. Interment followed in Maplewood Cemetery, Windsor. A reception was held in the funeral home’s Elmcroft Reception Centre.
