Mary passed away peacefully at the Cross Cancer Institute in Edmonton on Wednesday, August 24, 2016; after a very short but incredibly courageous battle with cancer at the age of 60. She was born in Dalhousie, Restigouche Co. New Brunswick on November 21, 1955 to parents James Peter Cormier and Margaret Isobel Kennedy.

Mary worked very hard at S.A.M. Safety Rentals Ltd.; the business she co-owned with partner Shawn and step daughter Adrienne. Her hardworking and caring nature made a lasting impression on everyone she met. Mary enjoyed gardening, camping, golfing and kayaking.

Mary is survived by her partner Shawn Sheppard; grand daughter Tanya Huffman; step-children Adrienne Flamont, Tabitha Marthinsen, Candace Verge; brothers and sisters: James (Gus) Cormier, Lottie Christensen, Angela Lemon, Rick Cormier, Raymond Cormier, Don Cormier, Colleen Cormier, Joann Walydko and many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents James Peter Cormier and Margaret Isobel Kennedy, brother Albert (Al) Cormier and spouse Jim Huffman.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Muskoseepi Park Pavilion in Grande Prairie, AB (intersection of 102 St and 102 Ave, pavilion at the bottom of the hill in the park on the right) on September 10th, 2016 at 2pm. We invite you to join the family and share your memories of Mary.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Cross Cancer Institute.
