Surrounded by her loving family, Evelyn Hopkins, née Greenham, passed away September 11, 2016, at Dundas Manor in Winchester, Ontario. She was predeceased by her parents Walter and Winnie Greenham, her nephew Paul Greenham, and her brother-in-law George Whitehorne. Born in Twillingate, Newfoundland on May 7, 1943 she married Hardy Hopkins on December 4, 1963. They settled in Gander where they raised two daughters, Suzette (Michael Bruer) and Sonya (Jason Carter). Her pride and joy were her two beautiful grandchildren, Jake and Jenna Bruer, who they moved to Russell, Ontario in 2014 to be near. Also left to mourn are her brother, Lloyd Greenham (Iris), her sisters, Edna Whitehorne and Mona Card, as well as many uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. She was loved for her quick wit and her laughter, and the most important thing in her life was her family. A private ceremony took place in Ontario on September 13th, followed by cremation and her family will be taking her home to Newfoundland next summer to be laid to rest near her parents.
