Passed away suddenly at The Grey Nuns Hospital, in Edmonton, Alberta on May 11, 2016 at the age of 65 surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her loving husband Wilfred in 2014, parents Mary and Lawrence Burke, brothers Jackie and Ricky, sister Margaret, in-laws Augustus and Bridie Harrigan and brother-in-law James Harrigan. Leaving to mourn with broken hearts and treasured memories, her cherished children Rodney (Michelle) Edmonton, AB; Colleen (Gerard) Melvin Tors Cove, NL and Todd (Erin) Edmonton, AB, Grandchildren her pride and joy Derrick (Kaylene), Tristan, Miranda, Kenzie, Blake and Logan. Her brother, Bill (Christine) Burke, sisters Kay (Bob) Samms, Lena (Charlie) Bavis, Linda Burke, and sisters-in-law Madonna Melvin, Margaret (Vince) Swain and Fran Harrigan and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends in both Newfoundland and Alberta. Cremation has taken place in Edmonton, her ashes will be brought to NL by her family to be laid to rest with her husband. A memorial service will be held at Ryan's Funeral Home, Bay Bulls, NL. Visitation to take place on Friday, October 7, 2016 from 2-9 pm and Saturday, October 8, 2016 from 9-11 am. A celebration of life to take place on October 8, 2016 at 12 pm at St. Michaels Roman Catholic Church in St. Michaels, burial to follow at Sacred Heart RC Cemetery, Tors Cove, NL.
