Bill Mullins, age 76, died suddenly at his home in Louisbourg on Tuesday, September 20. Son of the late Helen and Bernard Mullins of Bateston, he is survived by his wife, Pat (Bates); son, Bernard (Sharran) Brandon, MB; grandsons, Ian Mullins, Winnipeg, Ryerson Dennis (Brandon MB) and Riordan Dennis (Brookdale MB); sisters, Elizabeth McDougall, Main-A-Dieu, Vonnie (Albert) Dowling, St. John, NB; mother-in-law, Lizzie Bates; sisters-in-law, Pauline (Bill) MacDonald and Helen (Lloyd) Carter; brothers-in-law, Tom (Jackie) Bates and Earl (Judy) Doyle. He was predeceased by brother-in-law, Dan McDougal; sister-in-law, Rose Doyle and brother, Joseph (in infancy). Always active in his community, Bill was a founding member of the Louisbourg Playhouse where he shared fond memories over tea and oatcakes with many friends from coast to coast. He was a member of the Louisbourg Planning Commission, the S&L Railway Society, Motorhome Park and the Cape Breton West PC Assn (past president). Cremation has taken place. Visitation for Bill will be held today, Friday, Sept. 23, 2016 from 7-9 p.m in Stella Maris Parish, Louisbourg. Funeral Mass the following day, Saturday, Sept 24, in Stella Maris Parish, at 11 a.m with Fr.Jonathan Nnajiofor officiating. Burial to follow in parish cemetery.
