It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Carmie MacIntosh at Victoria Haven Nursing Home on Sunday, October 30, 2016. She was born in Glace Bay on January 25, 1926 and was a lifelong resident of Glace Bay where she raised her three children. She leaves behind her grieving family; her son, Bernie (Raylene); daughter, Sandi Cummings and daughter, Lynne (Lyn) McDiarmid. She will be greatly missed by her dear grandchildren, Zachary Martin, Grayson McDiarmid, Kelsey Rafuse, Jonathan Cummings, Noah and Grayson MacIntosh as well as six great-granddaughters. Carmie worked for many years for the Federal Government. She also volunteered at Victoria Haven Nursing Home where she later returned to be cared for in the final months of her life. She loved to bowl, play bingo and she did beautiful paper tole pictures that are now treasured by her family. She was predeceased by her husband, Alex and their 70 year marriage was a blessed example to their family. The family would like to give a note of deep gratitude to the staff at Victoria Haven. She spent the final months of her life in their care and her last days were sweetened by their affectionate concern. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. There will be no visitation by request. Cremation has taken place under the care of Curry’s Funeral Home, 775 Main St., Glace Bay. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 2, 10 a.m. at St. Anne’s Church. The Rev.
