LOIS JEAN MOKELKI
(nee KELLY)
1952 – 2016

Lois Jean Mokelki passed away at the age of 64 years on October 27, 2016. She was born on May 5, 1952 in Weyburn, SK to Arthur & Sally Kelly. She and her younger brothers, Loren, Allen and Patrick, grew up in Weyburn, where she met her future husband Daniel (Dan) Mokelki in 1967. Dan and Lois were married on July 30, 1971 in Weyburn, SK where their first child, Tracy, was born. Lois finished her training as a psychiatric nurse in March of 1973. In 1975, Dan and Lois moved to Prince Albert, SK, where their children Jaimie, Daniel, Darcy and Amanda were born. Lois had a fulfilling career of 36 years as a psychiatric nurse spent in the spirit of love and service for others. Though she could have retired in 2009, she continued to work as long as her health allowed. She also worked at Pine Grove Correctional Centre as a nurse for many years. Her life and relationships were mainly characterized by her service to others in inexhaustible love, endurance and excellence. One of her life’s crowning joys was her family and the raising of her children. Of all of her pastimes, she especially found enjoyment in gardening, but also had interest in a diverse range of knowledge which she pursued throughout her life. After retirement, she and her husband Dan enjoyed one another’s company throughout the world during many travels together. Her first and greatest love was to her Savior the Lord Jesus Christ. Her relationship to God was the single most defining force in her life, which inspired and empowered her to touch the lives of all who knew her in such a special way. Her life and love are of eternal impact and will leave a legacy that will continue throughout the generation that follow her. Lois is predeceased by her father, Arthur, her uncle, Tim Twardochleb, her mother- and father-in-law, Ralph & Jean Mokelki, and her daughter, Tracy. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Dan, her sons, Daniel and Darcy (Elice) and their children, Caleb, Isaac and Emma, her daughters, Jaimie (Corey) and their children, Skyler and Logan, and Amanda (Jason) and their children, Madison and Jesse, her mother, Sally, her brothers, Loren, Allen (Elaine) and their children, Michael and Nicholaus, and Patrick (Susan) and their children, Jennifer and Brent. A visitation will be held 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at River Park Funeral Home. Lois’s funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 3, 2016 at River Park Funeral Home, Rob Jackson officiating.
