Borghild "Bergy" Potter

Borghild "Bergy" Potter was born in the Battrum, Fosterton district on June 8, 1926, the youngest born to Kristi and Halvor Vangen. She attended schools in Scotia, Mistletoe, Hagarville and Wheatbelt. After quitting school, she worked at various farms. She then went to Regina, SK and did domestic work and finally at the Savoy Café. Bergy later came home, got married and had three children. She worked at the Modern Café for a few years and then to the farm at Success, SK and worked with her best friend and companion, Glenn Robbie for 32 years. She loved all the farm animals, raised a big garden, and loved to cook, bake and can fruits, meat and vegetables. Bergy enjoyed danicing, curling, bowling, bingo and playing cards. She spent a couple of years in Delisle, SK with her daughter, then back to Swift Current, SK where she has resided since. She was predeceased by her parents; father and mother-in-law; her oldest son Dale; two half brothers Bjarm and Lars; brothers Sven, Emil, Christian, Iver and Halvar; sister Belle Campbell; many sisters and brothers-in-law; as well as many nieces and nephews. She is survived by her daughter Carolyn Moore; son Vernon (Viola) Potter; grandsons Terry (Mona) Moore, Brian (Terri) Potter, and David (Lynnette) Potter; granddaughter Melanie Potter; sisters-in-law Mary Vangen and Margaret Monk; great grandsons Kevin Moore, Lucas and Zachery Potter; great granddaughters Jada and Tala Pincmin and Taryn and Tennealle Potter; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The funeral service was held on Friday, November 18, 2016 from Restoration House Church with Oran Anderson officiating. The organist was Lorraine Dyck, ushers were Bev Anderson and Caroline Blanke, pallbearers were Darrell Wotherspoon, Mark Anserson, David Wotherspoon, Ray Vangen, Brian Wotherspoon, and Gerry Blanke, and honorary pallbearers are all those who shared in Bergy's Life. The interment service took place in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Donations in Bergy's memory may be made to the Success Community Hall - Memorial Donation P.O. Box 93 Success, SK S0N 2R0.
