It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of William “Willie” Martin Aucoin, 88, of Hills Rd. Albert Bridge. Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, and great grandfather, on Thursday, Nov.24, 2016, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, N.S. Willie was the last surviving member of his family. Born in Dominion on Jan 22, 1929, and raised in Whitney Pier, Willie was the son of the late Thomas and Eunice (Doucette) Aucoin. Willie had been an employee at No.3 Boiler House at Sydney Steel Plant for 44 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Phyllis (nee Devereaux); children, Wendy, Billy (Glenda), Curtis (Wendy); grandchildren, Jill, Melissa, Aimee, Justin, Jason, Josh, Kyle and Cory; eight great-grandchildren. Special thank you to Dr. Liam Orrell, Palliative Care Unit of the CBRH, and to the staff of 3A, for all their compassion and care. Cremation has taken place, as per Willies Wishes, there will be no Visitation or funeral. Burial will take place at a later date.
