It is with broken hearts that we announce the death of Michael James Corbett age 66, passed away on November 29th, 2016 at his residence in Baddeck, NS. Born in New Waterford, he was the son of the late Thomas and Florence (Hall) Corbett.
Michael spent most of his time with his beloved grandchildren. He enjoyed playing crib. Known for his great personality, he will be missed by his many nieces, nephews and friends.
Michael is survived by his wife, Jeanette Corbett; his sons, Michael, Patrick (Leanne) Stephen (Sarah) and his daughter, Catherine Corbett (Jeremy). He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jordan, Dallas, Ethan, Annika, Jesslyn, Jenna, Aidan, Owen, Lewis and Jayla.
He was predeceased by son, Colin James Corbett; brother, Harold Corbett; aunt, Theresa Dauphney.
The family would like to give special thanks to the Victoria County Memorial Hospital doctors, nurses and staff.
The body is resting at MacAskill Funeral home, Baddeck, with visitation Monday December 5, 2016, 11a.m. -1p.m., followed by funeral service at 2 p.m. at St. Michaels Catholic Church Baddeck with Father Paul Abbass officiating, followed by reception at St. Michael’s parish hall. Private burial will be on Tuesday December 5, 2016, in Ingonish.
