Passed away peacefully at Chancellor Park on Friday, December 2nd, 2016 in her 95th year. Predeceased by her husband Joe; sisters: Alma Pritchard (Ted), Nance Walsh (Bill), Marion Mercer (Joe), Hilda Penney (Reg), Jean Donovan (John), Edna Martin (Ralph) and Marjorie LeDrew (Art); brothers: Ron Moores (Kay) and Ted Moores. Leaving to celebrate her life; daughter Elaine Young (Bob); sons: Derrick (Marina Mercer) and Douglas (Susan Zwanenburg); special daughter-in-law Emma Day; two loving grandsons: Christopher Young (Jillian Yabsley) and Andrew Young (Amanda Hayward); five precious great grandchildren: Nathan, Jane, Maelie, Lucy and Beth; sister-in-law Irene Moores, as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. A special thank you to the staff of Chancellor Park for their excellent care over the past three years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Newfoundland and Labrador. Resting at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Monday, December 5th from 10am-12pm, 2pm-4pm and 7pm-9pm. Funeral service will take place at Wesley United Church on Tuesday, December 6th at 2pm, interment will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Field of Honour.
