Katherine Marguerite MacLean
Date de décès : 22 décembre 2016
Katherine Marguerite MacLean, made her final journey home in the early hours of December 22nd, 2016 carried on the wings of angels.
She was the Daughter of the late Roy and Jane (Burton) Phillips. Katherine was the devoted wife and best friend of Ewen MacLean for 63 years, they raised six adoring children together, Kevin (Elaine), Kathy (Scott), Vanda (Bert), Darren (Bernadette), Blaine (Karen) and Andrea (Duncan). Her grandchildren, Amanda, Jennifer, Craig, Meaghan, Kayla, Erin, Nicholas, Turner, Whitney and Noah brought her tremendous joy and her love for her great grandchildren was boundless, Miranda, Abby, Laura, Kale, Mattea, Sophie, Bentley and Charlie.
Katherine was caring, compassionate, incredibly generous and an inspiration to be a better person. She took great pleasure in the simple things of life, stopping to point out the rainbow after the rain, the first robin of spring and a four leaf clover which she was expert at spotting. Gardening was one of her passions and she loved nurturing plants to life, enjoying the beautiful flowers and plants that she loved to grow in gorgeous splashes of color throughout the spring into fall. Katherine had a gift with yarn and her family enjoyed many pairs of socks, mittens and sweaters made by her loving hands. She enjoyed a good card game especially with friends and family, but never on a Sunday! Family meant everything to her and she was deeply devoted to her faith, living her life as an amazing teacher, mentor, guide and confidante to us all.
Christmas was her favorite time of year and she went over the top baking goodies and amazing food, all made extra special sharing it with many family and friends. She made the holiday season come alive for all of us. Her light will shine on forever in our hearts and we take comfort in the knowledge that she is free.
Besides her parents Katherine was predeceased by sisters, Annie and Eva; brothers, Josie, Harold, Byron, Claude, Bill, Winburn and her twin brother, Herman. She was also predeceased by a great grandson, Cameron Morrison.
