Doris Thistle

Date de naissance : 25 octobre 1931

Date de décès : 25 décembre 2016

The family of Doris Thistle (nee Moore) wishes to celebrate the life of our mother (-in-law), grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister (-in-law) and friend. Her most recent goal in life was to be 85, which happily she achieved. It is our belief the peacefulness and goodwill present during the holiday season will guide her on her journey. Leaving behind with many memories are children James (Ottawa), Linda and Len Thistle-Beecroft (Whitehorse), Michelle and Robert Murdoch (St. John's), Jeffery and Flo (Whitehorse/Switzerland), and Deborah and Charles Randell (Logy Bay); mom's beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren Suzanne, Greg and Josi Blackjack (Whitehorse), Jon, Jan and Max Colpitts (Toronto) and Mike Murdoch (St. John's); brother Robert and Sandy (Ontario); sister Lillian and Herbert Calker; sister-in-law Dolly Thistle; nieces and nephews and life long friends Elizabeth and David Thistle. Predeceased by husband James, mother and father Gertrude and Theodore Moore, and many within the Moore and Thistle families including sisters Ruth, Elizabeth, Grace, and brother Ted and brother-in-law Edgar. Mom was fiercely independent and feisty all her life resisting help with most everything. We mourn her passing but feel enriched with her presence on earth. May she find peace. The family is forever thankful to the staff of 7 East, St. Clare's Hospital and to staff at Chancellor Park who provided to Mom care and comfort during her final months and days. Visitation will be held at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Friday, January 6, 2017 from 7-9 pm. Funeral service to be held from St. Mark's Anglican Church, Logy Bay Road on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 11 a.m. Please visit www.barretts.ca to sign the memorial guest book.
