Sister Lucille Dupuis (Sister Sainte-Marie-Albert) of the Sisters of the Presentation, passed away on Boxing Day, Thursday, December 26, 2016 at the age of 89 in the Provincial House Infirmary at 1405 Bishop Pascal Place in Prince Albert, SK. Prayer service will be held in the Provincial House Chapel on Thursday, December 29 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the Provincial House Chapel on Friday, December 30 at 10:30 a.m. by His Excellency Bishop Albert Thévenot and con-celebrated by Father Maurice Fiolleau, Vicar-General. Sister leaves to mourn: the members of her religious Congregation; five sisters: Thérèse Beauchamp from Red Deer, AB; Dorothée (Herald) Gray from Shellbrook, SK, Alberta Nerbas from Calgary, AB, Diana (Dan) Mansfield from Gibsons, BC, Paulette Ainsley from Vancouver, BC; four brothers: André (Helen Terrel) from Shellbrook, SK, Eugène from Shellbrook, SK, Lucien from Shellbrook, SK, Bernard (Peggie Kruger) from Prince Albert, SK; as well as numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents: Albert and Délima (née Bernier) Dupuis; two sisters: Denise and Hélène; four brothers-in-law: George Kendel, Rod Nerbas, James Ainsley and Gerald Beauchamp. Sister Lucille was born in Hoey, SK on November 12, 1927, where she received her schooling and developed her love of music. She joined the Congregation of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary in Saint Hyacinthe, QC, and made her first vows on February 3, 1949. She started her music career in Manitoba: The Pas, Laurier, St. Lazare, and Winnipeg. She also taught music in Spiritwood, in Prince Albert (Presentation of Mary Academy), Debden, Vawn, and Bellevue. She enjoyed deepening her prayer life at the retreat house in St. Hilaire, QC. For nine years, she lived at our General House in Castelgandolfo, Italy, where she delighted in preparing the liturgy for the sisters. Her years of retirement were spent at the Provincial House in Prince Albert, where she kept herself busy, useful and happy; finding ways to be of service in the archives department and by keeping abreast of Vatican news. Ecology, was one of Sister Lucille’s favorite themes of research and she challenged those around her about it. As her health was failing, she was transferred to the infirmary in Prince Albert. Sister Lucille will be remembered for her great love of the Church, her profound fidelity to prayer and her sincerity in the service of God.
