The death occurred peacefully at the South Shore Villa, Crapaud, P.E.I. on Wednesday, December 28th, 2016 of Martha Elizabeth Perry-Thomas (nee Cherpak), formerly of North Tryon, P.E.I., aged 87 years. Martha was born in North Sydney, N.S. to her late parents Michael and Mary (nee MacDonald) Cherpak. Beloved wife of Lester Perry and also her first husband, the late Marshall Thomas. Loving mother of Joyce (Bobby) Gallant of Summerside, Marlene (Ed) MacLarren of Charlottetown, Barry (Nellie) Thomas of Charlottetown, Leslie (Kim) Thomas of Kensington, Debbie McIver of Middleton, Shane (Glenda) Thomas of North Tryon, and stepson Michael Perry of Borden. Survived by her sisters Josephine MacLeod of Cape Breton and Frieda Raymond of Florida. Also lovingly remembered by her 15 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and her first husband, Martha was predeceased by her infant daughter Josephine Irene Thomas, her grandson Michael Bryan, her son-in-law Paul McIver and her brother-in-law Ernie MacLeod. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Saturday, December 31st where a Memorial Service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 1:30 p.m. Interment to take place in the Westmoreland Baptist Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Martha’s memory to the Parkinson’s Society of Canada or the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
