Passed peacefully away at St. Patrick's Mercy Home on December 28, 2016, Ruth Hawkins (nee Pike), age 89 years. Ruth was predeceased by her husband Eric (2011) and her sisters; Jess, Edith and Jean. Leaving to mourn are her son David (Veda) and grandson Gordon (Sumaiya). She will be remembered and missed by many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. The family is forever thankful to all the staff of CraDea Manor who provided for her care during the period from 2015 to July 2016, the Health Sciences Centre and to all the staff of 1 South at St. Patrick's Mercy Home, who provided care and comfort during her final months and days. Cremation has taken place. Resting at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Monday, January 2, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Interment will take place at a later date.
