It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Edith Marie Hollingsworth, age 70, of Emerald Street, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at her home.
Born in North Sydney on March 24, 1946, Edith was the daughter of the late Edward and Jean (MacDonald) Power. She was a member of St. Joseph Church, North Sydney. Edith is survived by her husband, Billy Bradley; her daughter, Lisa (Gordie) Ford, Georges River; her son, David (Aliccia), Alberta and two special nephews that were like sons to her, Raymond and Terry, Alberta; her six grandchildren that were her pride and joy, Alyssa, Madison, Kaydence, Riley, Grady and Ryker. She is also survived by her sister, Roseanne (Bill) Bennett, Big Bras d’Or and brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert (Irene), Jean (Joe), Chris (Roger), Dena (Rick) and Elaine (Tony), several nieces and nephews and close friends.
Besides her parents, Edith was predeceased by her siblings, Edward Jr., Earl, Bobby, Tommy, Jimmy, George, Danny, Terry, Rucky, Peewee, Eric, Joan, Betty, Nina; a brother in infancy and two sisters-in-law, Linda and Laura. Visitation for Edith will be held from 9-11 a.m. on Thursday in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant Street, North Sydney. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Patrick O’Neill officiating. Burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Sydney at a later date.
