The death of Eleanor Margaret Morrison of Miramichi, NB, widow of Bruce Morrison, occurred at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at the ae of 72. Born in Charlottetown, PE, Eleanor was the daughter of the late Charles and Flossie (Younker) Hyde of Meadowbank, PE. Eleanor was a retired manager of the Rehab Department of the Miramichi Regional Hospital and was an active volunteer in the Miramichi Community in many capacities including: Ladies Aux of the Miramichi Regional Hospital, Miramichi Regional Hospital Foundation, former warden of St. Paul’s Anglican Church and their weekly prayer group , community kitchen to name a few. Eleanor is survived by two daughters: Heather Johnston of White City, SK and Katie Morrison (Frank Byrne) of Edmonton, AB; one sister: Miriam Lank (William) of Meadowbank, PE; four grandchildren: Logan, Calder, Jayden and Rylan; two sisters-in-law: Nancy Leefe (John) of Liverpool. NS, Janis Morrison Bates of Montreal, QC and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Eleanor is predeceased by one brother-in-law: Stan Bates Visitation will be held at Bell’s Funeral Home on Thursday from 2-4 p.m. & 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held from St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Bushville, NB on Friday, January 20, 2017 at 11 a.m. with The Venerable Rev. Richard Steeves officiating. Burial will take place in Hyde Crosby Pioneer Cemetery, Meadow bank, PE later in the spring. In Eleanor’s memory a donation may be made to Hyde Crosby Pioneer Cemetery Fund.
