Annie (Harder) Hiebert 1915 – 2017 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Annie Hiebert, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. Anne “Annie” Hiebert (nee Harder), age 101, passed away peacefully with family at her side on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at the Cypress Regional Hospital, Swift Current, SK. Anne “Annie” Harder was born on August 27, 1915 to Henry & Aganetha Harder on the family farm, west of Main Centre, SK. She worked as a cook for the hayfield camps, which was where she met her husband, Abe Hiebert. They were married on July 7, 1938 and had seven children together. Annie was a homemaker, loved to garden, and was an avid sewer. She was famous for making blue-jean blankets, which she sewed until she was 95. Annie is survived by her children, Jean Beaton, Francis (Verna) Hiebert, Don (Muriel) Hiebert, Glen (Diane) Hiebert, Wes (Sheila) Hiebert, and Terry (Yvonne) Hiebert; her seventeen grandchildren; her thirty-nine great-grandchildren; her six great-great-grandchildren; and by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased in 2005 by her husband, Abe Hiebert; an infant son in 1949; her son-in-law, Norman Beaton, in 2010; her daughter-in-law, Verna Hiebert (Wes’ first wife), in 2001; an infant granddaughter in 1965; her parents, Henry & Aganetha Harder; and by several of her siblings. The Funeral Service was held on Friday, January 20, 2017 at 2:00 pm from the Faith Evangelical Missionary Church, Swift Current, SK with John Duncan officiating. The pianist for the service was Delores Falk. “In the Garden” and “Precious Lord, Take My Hand” were sung by the congregation. The tribute was shared by Mona Martens. The ushers in the church were Chris Hiebert and Travis Hiebert. The Interment Service was held prior to the Funeral Service from Hillcrest Cemetery with the following grandsons serving as pallbearers: Sheridan Hiebert, Kevin Hiebert, John Beaton, Don Beaton, Chris Hiebert, Travis Hiebert, and Jeff Hiebert. In memory of Annie Hiebert, donations made to Gideons International or Samaritan’s Purse would be appreciated by the family.
