The death occurred peacefully with family by his side at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Tuesday February 7th, 2017 of Thomas “Tom” Joseph Martin of Summerside and formerly of Kensington, P.E.I., aged 81 years. Tom was born in Summerside, P.E.I. to the late Emmanuel and Irene (nee Martell) Martin. Beloved husband of Loretta (nee MacIsaac) Martin and loving father of Blair (Marcia) Martin, Indian River, P.E.I. Also lovingly remembered by his 4 grandchildren Jill (Ryan) Ross, Heidi Martin (Gregor Chissolm), Brandi Martin and Jonah (Tamara) Martin, 3 great granddaughters Madison, Abigail and Amelia and several nieces and nephews. Survived by his brothers Harold (Shirley) Martin and David (Jean) Martin. Besides his parents, Tom was predeceased by his brothers Frank and Walter, sisters Mary Belle, Mary May and Ethel. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Friday, February 10th,where a funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2 p.m. Interment to take place in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Indian River at a later date. Memorial donations in Tom’s memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or Alzheimer Society would be greatly appreciated. By personal request there will no visiting hours held.
