PEDERSON: Feb. 7, 1929 - Feb. 1, 2017 Clarence was born on the family homestead in the flat north east of Abbey, SK to Lewis and Ella (Alstad) Pederson. He was the youngest of nine children. Growing up he was surrounded by both sets of grandparents, three aunts, four uncles and many cousins and close friends. He attended Miry Creek School, four miles away, until his father died in 1945 when he quit school to help out at home. He worked for Myra and Bert Thoogeveen, Alice and Martin Braaten, Grace and Jack Underwood and a short but enjoyable time at Menois Ranch. He worked for a summer for the R.M. of Miry Creek before starting to farm and ranch. In May of 1956 he and Betty Coburn were married in the United Church in Abbey. Clarence was the proud father of five and grandpa of six children. Clarence liked old time music and he and Ron Pearce and Stan Pederson attended many Old Time Fiddler concerts. He, Stan and Allan Thoreson went to the dances in Gull Lake for several years where he met many new friends. Clarence is survived by his wife Betty of 60 years; his sons Clint (Cindi) and their children Jade and Drew, Bill, Robert (Denise) and their son Darcy (Kris), and Doug; his daughter Julie (Greg) Logan and their children Payton and Tristyn; his sister Ione; sister-in-law Georgina Coburn; a few special cousins; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Lewis in 1945; mother Ella in 1970; brothers Irwin in 1917, Angus, Curtis in 2006, Irvin in 1996, Emery in 2006 and Leroy in 1972; his sister Verna Kales; daughter-in-law Elizabeth (Richmond) Pederson; sisters-in-law Vim Pederson and Jo (Eric) Reynreds; brothers-in-law George Kales and Alastiaic (Scotty) Coburn; as well as most of his cousins. The Funeral Service was held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 17, 2017 from the Abbey Community Centre with Reverend Salesi Takau officiating. Pallbearers were Bill Dillman, Garth Jacklin, Bob Stuart, Allan Haggart, Mark Main and Gordon Jacklin, honorary pallbearers were Marvin Cameron, Gail and Cliff Fyke, Alice and Bob Heard, Vivian Kimber, Marilyn and Lanny Turgeon, Pat and Stan Hughes, Roy Pearce, and Audrey Jorgenson, and ushers were Rob Stuart and Ed Haggart. The interment service took place from the Abbey Community Cemetery.
