Jessie Louise Skanes
(nee Kitchen, aka "Mommy Jessie") Passed away peacefully on January 22, 2008, age 90 years and one day (formally of Masonic Park, Bishop's Falls and Bell Island, NL). Predeceased by husband Frederick (1989); mother and father Sophie and Harvey Kitchen; brothers Harold, Joe and George and sister Lillian Nichol. Left with fond and loving memories children Una (Jim Parsons), Lorraine (Ron Fleming), Tim (Susanne), Marjorie (Peter Kanis), Margaret (Charles Rose) and Nancy (Gerald Boyd); fifteen grandchildren Philip, Christine, Colleen, Ken, Kim, Fred, Brian, Lori, Paula, Susie, Kelly, Jennifer, Tom, Rick and Krista); seventeen great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter; special grandsons-in-law Paul, John and niece Linda; many family and friends. Resting at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, St. John's from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday. Funeral service to celebrate Mommy Jessie's life will be held on Friday, January 25, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. from Carnell's Memorial Chapel, St. John's. Interment to follow in St. Cyprian's Anglican Cemetery, Bell Island. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
