It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Paul R. Dawson of Cornwall on February 18, at the QEH, Charlottetown. A cherished father, father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend who will be deeply missed. He was a remarkable example of what it is to grow old with grace, accepting his loss of loved ones, diminished physical ability and mental acuity with his characteristic cheerfulness and equanimity. We will forever miss his trademark smile, the twinkle in his eye, his faith that things will work out for the best, his unfailing good manners and his stand in place jigs - fingers snapping in time. Paul will be remembered for his work on the railroad, truck driving, farming, bus driving, camping, dining at Sam’s, spending time with family, good times at the cottage, and travelling. He left a bit of himself in each of those he met. He is survived by his children: Gloria (Adrian) Clarke, Audrey (Blois) Beer, Carolyn (Daryl) Putland, Pauline (Bill) Stonehouse, Irwin (Lori) Dawson; grandchildren: Philip, Brian (Dwayne), and Erica; Andrea (Jamie) and Amanda; Becky (Mark) and Ryan (Rikki); Meghan and Nolan (Jenna); Ellen, Hannah and Isaac; great grandchildren: Lily and Jack, Calan and Van; sister Doris Fall; sisters-in-law: Donna Livingstone, Elizabeth Flack and Lynda Gardiner; brother-in-law Alger (Liz); as well as a large extended family and many dear friends. Predeceased by wife Eleanor (Cutcliffe); granddaughter Cassandra; great-grandson Bennett; and siblings Mary (Vern) Webster, Hazen (Pearl) Dawson, Joe (Gladys) Dawson, Barclay (Marion) Dawson, Cliff (Bertha) Dawson, Earl Fall; in-laws Gordon Cutcliffe, Byron (Peggy) Cutcliffe, Beatrice Patterson, Lois (Doug) Thompson, Wendell Cutcliffe, Adele MacLean, Gerald Cutcliffe, Nelson Livingstone, and Sheldon Gardiner. Special thanks to the QEH staff of Unit 3 and Dr. Cabilio for their wonderful care of this truly special man. Resting at the Dawson Funeral Home, Crapaud, for visitation from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., on February 21, 2017. Celebration of life will be held on February 22, 2017, at 2 p.m. at Dawson Funeral Home.
