TREFRY, Malcolm Bernard- age 86, of Springhaven, N.S. passed away on March 6th, 2017. Born in Springhaven on February 8th, 1931 he was the son of the late Bernard and Ada (White) Trefry. During his working years Malcolm worked at the Yarmouth Airport where he operated various heavy equipment. Malcolm also had his own tractor which he enjoyed using while he worked in the woods cutting firewood. Malcolm was known to be a strong person who was able to handle whatever challenges he faced during his life. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting and spending time with his family. He is survived by his daughters, Patricia (Dennie) Pottier, Belleville, Donna (Carl) Moulaison, Springhaven and Shelley (Kevin) Trefry, Yarmouth; sons, Doug (Judy) Trefry, Springhaven, Wayne (Tabitha) Trefry, Springhaven; grandchildren Jennifer (Jason) Muise, Jody Trefry, Josh Trefry, Mandy (Ben) Hatfield, Joel Goodwin, Derek Pottier, Wade (Tracy) Trefry, Shawn Doane, Craig (Laura) Doane and Devin (Stephanie) Doane. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his wife Anna (Cunningham); sisters, Verna Baker, Ruth Balkam, Olive Dease, Pauline Tinkham and Katherine (Kay) Fuller-Smith and grandson Christopher Trefry. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. Visitation took place Thursday March 9th, 2017 from 7-9 p.m. from Sweeny's Funeral Home. A funeral service was held Friday March 10th, at 2:00 p.m. from Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Rev. Shawn Kehoe officiated. Interment followed in Canaan Cemetery. Family flowers only please.
