It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, grandma and great grandma, Madeleine Teresa Rouleau, age 87, on Friday, March 10, 2017 at the Oshawa Lakeridge Health Hospital. Born in North Sydney she was a daughter of the late Alexander and Florence (Hunt) Quirk. She was a cherished member and longtime volunteer of the CWL St. Bernadette’s Parish, Ballycliffe Nursing Home, the Red Cross Blood Donor Clinics and St. Vincent’s Kitchen. Madeleine is survived by two sons, Robert (Gloria) Rouleau, North Sydney and Michael (Arlene) Rouleau; her grandchildren, Ryan and Kerri (Craig) Wilcox and a great grandchild, Ruby. Madeleine will be fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Roger Rouleau; her sisters, Eva, Margaret, Josephine, Gladys, Sue, Agnes, Florence and brothers, Bill, George, Michael, Gervais and Alex Quirk. Visitation for Madeleine will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant Street, North Sydney. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday at St. Joseph Church, North Sydney with Rev. J.J. MacDonald officiating. Burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Sydney at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice. Online condolences may be sent to www.wjdooley.com.
