It is with saddened hearts we announce the peaceful passing of our dear mother at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, March 19, 2017 in her 79th year. Predeceased by her loving husband Leo Trainor; parents Molly and James Meade; stepmother Veronica; sisters Nellie, Kathleen, Bertha; brothers Donald, Cecil, and Junior. Left with many years of happy memories are her children; Charlie (Sadie), Bertha (David), Molly (Reg), Sharon (Gerard), Ann Marie, Doug (Rhonda). Precious grandchildren and great-grandchildren Amanda (Roland), Chris, Jillian (Danny), Andrew (Natasha), Nicole, Allison, Dennis, Grady, Adelle and Mason. Also remembered by her special friend, Steve Brophy and family, and lifelong friends, Mary O'Neill, Joan and Leonard O'Neill. Thank you to her caregivers, Penny O'Brien and the staff of Alderwood Estates. The family also wishes to thank Doctor Reddy, her team and the nurses on 4 West for their excellent care and compassion shown to Gertie and her family. Resting at Fahey's Funeral Home, Fermeuse on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 and Wednesday, March 22, 2017 from 2-9 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will take place at St. Charles Borromeo Church on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at 11 a.m. with interment to follow at Fermeuse Cemetery.
