It is with sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Lillian Roberts, age 74, on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Born in North Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Allan and Charlotte (Reid) Young. Lillian was a member of the North Sydney Senior Citizens and Pensioners Club, a former volunteer at the Northside Guest Home and was an avid card and bingo player. Lillian is survived by her partner, Donald Davis; her son, John Roberts, North Sydney; one brother, Clayton (Sally) Young, Ontario; four sisters, Dorothy Sullivan, Ball’s Creek, Jessie (Ken) Klassen, New Brunswick, Eileen Young, North Sydney and Jacqueline Young, Sydney, and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Leonard Roberts; son, David Roberts; sisters, Christina Young and Evelyn Young; nephew, Brian Sullivan and brothers-in-law, Ronnie Yorke and Frank Sullivan. Visitation for Lillian will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, April 7 in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney, followed by a service in the chapel with Marjorie Serafinus officiating.
