It is with great sadness that the family of the late Meta Hann announce her peaceful passing at home, surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at the age of 86 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her children: Calvin, New Brunswick, Emma (John), Charl (Jackie), Edward (Maxine), Christina (Ricky), Dora (Donnie), St. John's, June (Wayne), Ontario, George (Pamela) and Melinda "Penny" (Vince); 30 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; sisters Margaret (Ivan) and Shirley; brothers Kevin, Frankie (Lynda) and John (Alethia); as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Predeceased by her husband Leslie, 1998; son Derrick, 1970; daughter Ina, 2000; and one sister. A special thank you to Dr. Morris and Community Health Nurse Andrea and staff. Friends may visit Fillatre;s Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street on Friday, April 7, 2017 from 7-9 pm and Saturday, April 8, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Sunday, April 9, 2017 at 2 p.m. from the Salvation Army Temple, O'Connell Drive, with Captains Cory and Pamela Pinksen officiating, with interment to follow at Mt. Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to the NL Lung Association.
