GOUDEY, Lillian Belle- age 93. It is with heartfelt sadness mixed with tears of joy and thankfulness that we the family of Lillian Goudey announce her passing on April 25, 2017. Mom was born on January 26th, 1924 in Carleton, NS to parents Annie (Hurlburt) Prime and Stewart Prime. She lived in Carleton during her growing up years and was married to Charles Nickerson with whom she had one daughter, Joyce (Bob) Goudey, whose father Charles is deceased. Later she met and married Edward Goudey and together they had Roy (Beverly) Goudey, June Porter (Karl Smith), Gary (Esther) Goudey and Earl (Elizabeth) Goudey. She had 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by husband Edward Goudey, sister Ruth Goudey and brother Roy Prime. She is survived by one adopted sister, Betty (Burton) Bethune and sister-in-law Maureen Prime. She loved her home and that is where she remained with family help as well as the wonderful Home Care Girls whom she loved. God and her family encompassed mom’s whole life. Mom loved children and they were always a large part of her life. Mom enjoyed her church and community living and taught Sunday School many years. She also was a proud member of the Women’s Institute until the last few years when health became a problem. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. There was a visitation Saturday, April 29th from 1-2 p.m. followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m. from Brazil Lake Wesleyan Church, Pastor Kevin Myers and Pastor Keith Moore officiated. Interment followed in Brazil Lake Cemetery. Donations in memory may be made to the Brazil Lake Cemetery or the Brazil Lake Wesleyan Church Building Fund.
