Wayne Smith, 71 years of age, of Amherst, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre. He was the son of the late Frederick & Freda Sharpe.
Wayne worked for many years as a Sheet Metal Worker Local #47 in Ottawa Ont.He worked at the Amherst Legion, Branch #10 as a service officer and as a part time bartender.
He will sadly be missed by his daughter Jackie Santos of Hawaii, Grandchildren Kayla & Channon, niece Tammy Rogers (Christopher Hobbs) of Amherst.
Besides his parent, he was predeceased by his wife, Edith Anderson.
Cremation has taken place under the care of Furlong-Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church St., Amherst NS (902-667-877). A Legion Service will be held at the Amherst Legion Branch #10 on May 11, 2017 at 2 pm.
