Colpitts, Mary P. – Age 89, of Diligent River passed away on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at home. Born in Newton, Mass., she was the daughter of the late Frank and Elizabeth (Canning) Pearson. Mary was a graduate of Normal College in Truro and throughout her career, taught in numerous schools retiring in Parrsboro in 1987. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Burton, Diligent River; grandsons, Michael Burton (Stephanie McCulley), Halifax; Justin Colpitts, British Columbia; special friend, Robert Dowe, Diligent River. She was predeceased by her husband, Ronald in 2014; a daughter, Linda; a son, Mark. At Mary’s request, there will be no funeral service held. Memorial donations to a charity of choice.
