91, passed away peacefully on May 17th at the QEll in Halifax after a brief stay. Born in Hermitage, NL on Nov 10th, 1925, Susie was the proud daughter of Captain John Benjamin and Emily Ann (Green) Francis, and ever loving wife of her late husband Stan. Of their collective siblings, Susie was the last to leave us. She was unwaveringly devoted to her surviving immediate family: son Gerry (Diane), grandsons Gordon (Michelle), Mark (Cassidy), and Douglas (Sam), all of Delta, BC. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Bessie (Albert) Parsons and brother-in-law Edward (Marjorie) Colborne and many nieces and nephews. Susie was a gracefully dutiful servant to countless friends, relations, groups, and her church and congregation, especially at times of need. She loved working with her hands and created myriad needle points and afghans, ever eager to share her skills and donate her crafts. Too many to count will miss the treats from her kitchen. Funeral service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, June 3rd at the Anglican Church of the Apostles, 6670 Bayers Rd, corner of Connaught Ave, in Halifax, followed by a light lunch in the church hall.
