MacPhersons Mills - Doris Isabel Fraser, age 75, of MacPhersons Mills, Pictou County, passed away peacefully at the home of her son on Monday, June 25th, 2007. Born in New Glasgow, she was the daughter of the late Alvin and Alice (Allan) MacInnis. Doris was a resident of MacPhersons Mills all of her married life having previously lived in Meiklefield. She was a member of the Union Presbyterian Church in Thorburn and the church guild and the AMS. Doris was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Thorburn Fire Dept, and was secretary treasurer of the MacPhersons Mills Cemetery. She was a member of the MacPhersons Mills Women's Institute. Doris was also an active volunteer with the Pictou County Crime Prevention Association. Surviving are daughters: Linda (Harry Stewart), BC; Beverly (William) Chisholm, MacPhersons Mills; Sheila (Randy) Demers, MacPhersons Mills; sons, John Edwin Henry, MacPhersons Mills; Thomas Anthony (Janice), New Glasgow; grandchildren: Stephen, Andrew, Jared, Nicholas, Summer and Logan; brother, James McInnis, Meiklefield; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Henry K. Fraser; and brother, Ronald. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive visitors from 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow. A public graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday in the MacPhersons Mills Cemetery with Rev. Jeff Lackie officiating. No flowers by request.
